Get 20% Off Grocery and Gourmet Orders at Amazon

From now until the end of March, get 20% off grocery and gourmet orders at Amazon by entering code MAR20OFF at checkout.  Two notes: Amazon's page says this is only an offer for Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card members.  Whether they're holding true to that or not this time, I can't say, but I do know that in the past similar codes were ultimately available for use by non-members.  Second note: Buying bulk quantities on Amazon is pretty hit-or-miss in my experience; sometimes the prices are excellent, other times they veer sharply into "What the hell?!" territory.  As with any other kind of shopping, you'll want to break down the numbers before committing to a purchase.

If you have access to Amazon Prime, which offers free shipping, this might be a particularly good deal depending on what you're after.  We'll probably spring for a case of 12 canisters of Kraft Parmesan cheese and split it with my mother.  As of this writing (prices can change on a dime), it's $23.70 for 12, or $1.58 per canister after discount.  That's at least 30 cents cheaper than the best price we can typically get in-store (which itself involves stacking sales with coupons and other discounts), plus we'll cover the cost with Amazon gift cards we earned at Swagbucks, so we'll pay nothing out of pocket and net a few bucks when my mom reimburses us for her half.

  1. I have never gotten Kraft Parmesan in canisters of cheese that cheaply. I love that stuff! I would need to split that with someone, too. I cannot eat that much or afford that much money. I think I have that much in Amazon cards bought through Swagbucks...hmmm. thanks. I am going to check this out.

  2. Will check the current deals out, but my stockpile is a hot mess and too large right now, but thanks for tempting me.lol

I use to buy food on amazon fairly regularly(before I got into couponing heavily)and you are right, the pricing is all over the map!lol

That canister cheese keeps for a long time, way beyond the
"Best by" date. If you can keep it in a cool, dark place(it's cheese afterall)it will go a year or two beyond the dating. The cooler the better and you can freeze the last cannisters to keep it good til you can use it. I'm just coming to the end of a stockpile of 12 I got in March of 2010 and no one has died here....yet! ;-)
